Daniela Agostino

Italian-Canadian soprano Daniela Agostino has been praised as a “bright and agile soprano” (Stage Door) with a “soaring and lively” voice (Opera Canada). She holds a Master’s degree in Performance and Literature from Western University, where she studied with soprano Jackalyn Short. Daniela was the winner of the London Opera Guild Scholarship in 2017 and a finalist at the National Capital Opera Competition in Ottawa. She recently received a Career Blueprint award from Opera America, and was a 2024 recipient of a Canada Council for the Arts Explore and Create Grant.

Professional highlights include Gianetta and Adina (cover) in L’elisir d’amore (Highlands Opera Theatre), Gretel in Hank and Gremlin (Good Mess Opera Theatre), Gertrude Stein in The Mother of Us All (Voicebox: Opera in Concert), Festa in A Northern Light’s Dream (Toronto Operetta Theatre), Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro (Southern Ontario Lyric Opera), Valencienne in The Merry Widow (BROTT Opera, Toronto Operetta Theatre), Zerlina in Don Giovanni (Opera York), and Frasquita in Carmen (Southern Ontario Lyric Opera) and Victim B/Ensemble in the Toronto premiere of DuYun/Vavrek’s Angel’s Bone (Sound the Alarm Theatre/Loose Tea Music Theatre).

In 2025, she debuted with the Cambridge Symphony Orchestra, The Kindred Spirit Orchestra, and sang the title role of Cendrillon with Grande Prairie Opera. In January 2026, Daniela proudly co-produced a double bill of Gisela in her Bathtub and City Workers in Love, held at Western University in honour of Michael Cavanagh’s enduring legacy.
