Patricia Wrigglesworth

Originally from Markham, Ontario, soprano Patricia Wrigglesworth has been praised as “a delight to watch” (Opera Canada). Raised by two music educators, she grew up immersed in a rich musical environment. Her passion for performance emerged very early on through her involvement in children’s choir and musical theatre, attending her parents’ concerts, and private studies in both voice and piano. These formative experiences laid the foundation for her dynamic stage presence.

Wrigglesworth’s recent operatic engagements highlight her dramatic versatility and sensitivity. She has performed Alcina in Alcina, Lucia in The Rape of Lucretia, Countess Stasi in The Czardas Princess, Dido in Dido and Aeneas, Rosmene in Imeneo, Countess Lisa in Countess Maritza, Romilda in Xerse, and Miss Wordsworth in Albert Herring. Her thoughtful musicianship continues to distinguish her in both well known and lesser performed works.

Equally at home on the concert stage, Wrigglesworth brings a refined interpretive approach to oratorio and chamber works. She has appeared as the soprano soloist in Chatman’s Magnificat and Mozart’s Vesperae solennes de confessore and Coronation Mass, collaborating with many Canadian ensembles including I Musici de Montréal and the London Symphonia. Her growing concert portfolio reflects a wide-ranging command of both contemporary and traditional repertoire.

In spring 2026, Wrigglesworth will complete her Master’s degree in Opera and Voice at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music, where she studies under Dr. Tracy Smith Bessette. She continues to expand her artistry through performance, research, and a deep commitment to lifelong learning.
