Elizabeth Fast
Elizabeth Fast (she/her), coloratura soprano, recently completed an MMus in Early Music at McGill University under Dr. Tracy Smith Bessette. Raised by singers, she has spent her entire life surrounded by music, and is praised for her vocal agility and stylish interpretations of early repertoire. Her musical interests span several centuries and styles, from early baroque monody to bel canto to 20th century serialism, and she has a special fascination with the role of improvisation in classical music before the mid-nineteenth century. Elizabeth has been featured as a soloist by several organizations in her hometown of Calgary, Alberta, including The Festival Chorus (Fauré Requiem, 2024), String Theory Music Collective (Dolce Baroque, 2024), Early Music Voices Concert Society (VoiceScapes Sing-Along Messiah, 2022, 2023, 2024). Elizabeth currently sings at the Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul in Montréal and was a member of the Calgary Opera Chorus in their 2023-24 season. In 2024, Elizabeth was named Most Outstanding Classical Vocalist at the Calgary Vocal Festival and placed first in her class at the Alberta Music Festival and the Canada West Performing Arts Festival. In February 2026, she was a semifinalist for the Wirth Vocal Prize at McGill University. Elizabeth’s opera roles include Morgana in Händel’s Alcina (Opera McGill, 2026), Adele in J.
